If you are going to buy or have bought a personal CD player from the Sony range, then there is something you should know. The volume has been doctored ............Please read on.
I bought a Sony CD Walkman D-EJ360 from Amazon and noticed that it did not play as loud as it should. Amazon said I could not return it, as nothing appeared faulty. I was not happy with this, so contacted the Trading Standards and other similar departments whom all seem to be spineless in there actions.
E-mailed Sony and they quoted the following:
"Over the past year Sony United Kingdom Limited have reduced the volume on their portable audio products to bring them in line with the rest of Europe.
This is due to European Legislation and is out of the control of Sony United Kingdom Limited".
Nice of them not to let us know. More to the point nobody can find this ruling and the Trading Standards presume it is their own doing.
However the Walkman is fine apart from the volume. The Jog Proof works a treat and the battery life does as it states on the box.
I told Sony and the governmental offices that the buyer should be warned of the volume tampering. The offices said I havent got a leg to stand on, in other words they dont want to know or upset a multimillion-pound empire.
Therefore seeing the Sony Company does not feel it needs to inform Joe Public, I thought it best that I should as a matter of courtesy to the people of Great Britain.
